Timeline
The Dayflower Project which began in the Fall of 2019 has many challenges. In the past years and decades several other developers have attempted unsuccessfully to rezone and develop this property and for the same reasons that exist today, the property sits today.
Here is a timeline of events specific to the Dayflower Project:
Fall 2019
Dayflower submits application for rezoning of 1,000 acres
Feb 2020
Quail Hollow Alliance is Formed to protect the surrounding area from inappropriate development and to keep neighbors informed
March 2021
Soho Dayflower and their consultants held what some considered a deficient Community meeting. The Quail Hollow Alliance also held a Community webinar. Meeting recordings can be seen here: Community Meeting
August 2021
The County asked for more time at the Planning Commission meeting and they did vote to continue SOHO Dayflower to a date-uncertain.
November 2021
The County was working with the developer to edit the proposed Conditions of Approval specifically on roads and storm water, but there has been nothing finalized. No recommendation will go to the Planning Commission until this is done.
January 2023
County notifies Dayflower their application is deficient and will not grant further extensions.
February 2023
The rezoning application for this property has been withdrawn.
At any point in time the developer/owner could submit a new application.
This property and any activity is being monitored very closely.
May 2024
There has been no activity to report.
